Springhead has significantly reduced both its carbon footprint and energy costs, through a range of new energy saving installations.
20 secondary glazing units, 139 high efficiency LED lights, and a range of roof, ceiling and floor insulation have been installed with funding from Low Carbon Dorset as part of the European Regional Development Fund, and the BA Carbon Fund.
The hydro turbine helps us reduce our carbon footprint, by generating renewable electricity.Accumulating weeds, leaves and sticks have been clogging up the system which has at times resulted in it being shut down. Now, thanks to two grants, we have been able to install a new sluice gate to deal with this problem, and to help regulate the flow of water.
The Springhead Trust is delighted to announce the launch of its new website, which is designed to be fully accessible for those on the go, as it adapts for viewing on tablets and mobiles.
Restoration of Springhead House has now been completed and the building will soon be available for rental, offering spacious and comfortable accommodation for family groups, wedding guests and other visitors.
