Investigating the myths and legends surrounding some of the ancient stones in the area – such as the Hel Stone, Grey Mare and her Colts and the valley of the stones.  Working to create some new Myths about how they came to be there, by working in small groups and then hearing the new stories around the fire circle at the end.  Focusing on the geology of the site – and using the chalk to make paint the children will then decorate their own stones with chalk and coloured clay to make a simple game of tic tac toe.  Using stones, wool and leather cord the children will make staffs and story sticks using wool and lashing techniques.  This is an outdoor adventure.  Items to bring – a packed lunch, suitable outdoor clothing and robust footwear.
