Friends of Springhead
Formed in 2003, Friends of Springhead are a group of people who support the work of The Springhead Trust, either actively or by membership only, in preserving Springhead for the benefit and enjoyment of all in pursuit of the arts and environmental sustainability.
Among members is a body of enthusiastic and sociable ‘Friends’, who together are making a vital difference to the centre. They are working hands-on to paint rooms and mend fixtures and fittings; make jams and chutneys from the fruits picked from Springhead’s orchard to use at the centre and sell at public gatherings; raise funds from subscriptions and social events to purchase new furniture and furnishings, and equipment to enrich the learning of pupils on day and residential visits.
Also, many ‘Friends’ volunteer to help at Springhead’s events. In 2007 they organised and ran the catering at ‘Our Global Village Children’s Arts Festival’ and helped to put on Springhead’s first Christmas Fair.
As well as the personal satisfaction that being a ‘Friend’ brings, all members receive:
- An invitation to purchase tickets to Friends’ events, for example: musical concerts, jazz evenings, operettas, quiz nights and themed dinners.
- Friends of Springhead newsletter
- Occasional discounts and offers
Whether you would like to play an active or non-active role, Friends of Springhead is in need of your valuable support.
